Although it might be early to think about ice climbing, it’s not too early to come and check out the foliage. It’s in full color right now! There’s even some snow on the peaks to add to the majestic splendor of the San Juans. Town is quiet as the summer tourists have left. It’s still warm enough to rock climb, and the jeep roads are still accessible. What are you waiting for?

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009Shouldn’t be long now before ice routes are forming in the high country. It’s been down in the 20’s at night in Ouray. In fact, there was ice on the Talisman a week or so ago. Don’t get too excited, it wasn’t enough to climb, but it won’t be long!
