$16,000 in prize money will be up for grabs at the 2013 Ouray Ice Festival!
The Ouray Ice Park will be hosting two climbing competitions at this year’s 18th annual Ouray Ice Festival. Our annual Elite Mixed Climbing Competition will be held on Saturday, January 12, and new this year – the Ouray Ice Festival Hari Berger Speed Climbing Comp, hosted by Lowa on Sunday, January 13. Competition will be fast and furious at our most spectator friendly venue ever.
If you are interested in competing at the 2013 Ouray Ice Festival:
- Please review the Competition Rules. There you will find information on the rules, regulations, judging criteria and logistics for both the Elite Mixed and Speed comps.
- You must be a current Ouray Ice Park member to apply for either competition.

PLEASE NOTE: The 2013 Ouray Ice Festival Elite Mixed Climbing Competition will be held on Saturday January 12. The Ouray Ice Festival Hari Berger Speed Climbing Comp sponsored by LOWA will be held on Sunday January 13. If you are accepted into the mixed climbing competition you have first right of refusal to compete in the speed climbing competition on Sunday. However, you still must complete the Speed Comp application – there is all kinds of critical stuff in there that we really need from you…
Applications are due on, or before, DECEMBER 15, 2012. Applications received after that date will not be considered. Notification will be provided to you on or before DECEMBER 20, 2012, as your acceptance.
Competitor Lineup for the 2013 Ouray Ice Festival comps announced!
Stay tuned for 2013 competition route information. The route will have colored quickdraws and signs posted identifying it as the official competition route. Avoid climbing in this areas so you can avoid being disqualified! Maps and information about the Upper and Lower bridges can be found on this Website.
The competition will again be leash-less and spur-less, and is open to any member of the Ouray Ice Park. If you are not already a member, click here to become a member. Competitor applicants must be members and will be selected for the competition based upon their qualifications and experience by the Ouray Ice Park board of directors.
