The Ouray Ice Park is closed for the season. Thanks to all of our guests and supporters for another great season. The Ice Park is free to use, but not free to operate. World class ice climbing would not exist at the Ouray Ice Park without your support. Although the Park is closed, here in Ouray we are getting ready for our amazing summer season. If you think that Ouray is beautiful in the winter, check out our summer. We have miles of trails, acres of rock climbing, and many peaks to climb. If you are planning a trip to Ouray, check out our Travel Planner page, and please continue to support the many awesome local businesses who give their support to the Ouray Ice Park throughout the year.
The 18th annual Ouray Ice Festival was January 10-13, 2013, and was one of our best yet. Thanks to everyone who came out and took part. A big thanks to our title sponsors Asolo and Rock & Ice, and all of our Festival sponsors who helped make the event a success and who help us keep the ice in the Ouray Ice Park free for everyone. Never too soon to start getting psyched for the 2014 Ouray Ice Festival, which will run from January 9 to 12, 2014.

The Ouray Ice Park (the Park) is a manmade ice climbing venue operated in a spectacular natural gorge just outside the town of Ouray, CO. It is home to more than 200 named ice and mixed climbs, most within a 15-minute walk of the Park entrance. The Park and its infrastructure are jointly owned and managed by the City of Ouray, the nonprofit Ouray Ice Park, Inc. (OIPI), and a mix of other private and public landowners. Each winter, OIPI hosts the Ouray Ice Festival to celebrate the Park and raise funds for its operation. The Ouray Ice Festival is a spectacular grassroots event that features exhibition climbing, free clinics, seminars, slide shows, and gear demos.
Despite the high cost of its maintenance, the Park remains free and open for public use. In nearly 20 years of operation, it has become one of the premier ice climbing venues in the world.
