The Ouray Ice Park Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Tres Barbatelli has been selected as the new Executive Director of the Ouray Ice Park, officially beginning his new role on September 7.

Selecting the next Executive Director was an important decision for the organization. As we prepare for another season and continue looking toward the long-term future of the Ice Park, the Board focused on finding someone who understands the organization, values the community behind it, and is ready to help guide the Park through its next chapter.

Tres brings an especially valuable perspective to the role because he already knows the Ouray Ice Park and the community that surrounds it. His existing relationships and familiarity with the organization will give him a strong foundation as he begins working more closely with our staff, Board, community partners, supporters, sponsors, volunteers, and climbers.

Over the next several weeks, the Board will work with Tres on the transition so he can step into the position ready for the work ahead.

The coming season will bring plenty to do, from preparing the Park and supporting our staff to strengthening partnerships and continuing the work needed to build a sustainable future for this unique community resource.

We are excited to welcome Tres into this new role and look forward to what comes next.
