Backcountry Ice Climbing
This program is only open to individuals who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color
Our Backcountry Ice Climbing program is designed for intermediate to advanced climbers eager to explore the magnificent, natural ice formations of the San Juan Mountains. This is your chance to push your limits, refine your technique, and experience the profound beauty and challenge of backcountry climbing within a dedicated BIPOC space.
Guided by seasoned experts (also BIPOC), we will select objectives based on current conditions and group experience, focusing on classic routes that offer both rewarding climbing and spectacular scenery. You'll dive deeper into risk management, climbing efficiency, and the nuances of backcountry on ice.
This program is a unique opportunity to build mentorship connections, share advanced skills, and be part of a community that is actively increasing representation in the mountains.
