Current Condtions:
It’s certainly getting late in the season. Daytime temps have been in the 40s up until the last couple days, during which some winter weather has showed up. We aren’t expecting the cold trend to persist long, however. That’s been the case through a couple warm and cold spells post Ice Fest.
Conditions are continuing to change in the park. With warmer days recently, we have had to close all northern areas, except for Scottish Gullies. The tops of these areas has seen the most sun exposure and created some not-to-be-ignored overhead hazards, prompting the closures.
The south end of the park is still in pretty good shape overall, minus the isolated areas that see the most sun. Two Eyed Dog is closed, and parts of Deep South are thinning out as well. Be mindful of these ever changing conditions and potential hazards if you’ll be here to enjoy some quiet, late season climbs.
That said, we plan to monitor the park as the warming trend continues. We will close the entire north end on Monday, 3/17. The south end will remain open through Closing Day 3/23.
