There is more ice falling as the temps increase, especially in the afternoons.

🧊 Current CONDITIONS

The forecasted cold temps did happen in Ouray for a few days; unfortunately neither the temperatures nor the ice making operations we were able to carry out did as much as we hoped to solidify and shore up the ice in the gorge.

We’re now facing another warmup. It was over 50 degrees on Monday, 60 on Tuesday, and the current forecast either shows continued high temps or rain. We’re having to close more routes every day. Expect full springtime conditions: water running down routes, more small icefall, styrofoam-quality ice.

As usual, we’ll expect the Schoolroom, Pic O Vic, and South Park to hang on the longest. We’ve just closed Deep South and some of the northern areas are probably next. We will be closing more routes and areas as conditions deteriorate each day. Get the goods while you still can!
