Gear Assistants

Welcome new climbers to our Walk-Up Climbing Wall and get them suited up!

*Experience putting on ice climbing gear including boots, harnesses, helmets and crampons required, as you will be assisting beginner climbers and kids. 

This position is outside, so please dress for cold temperatures. We advise you to have winter boots, a warm jacket hat, and gloves.

The Walk-Up Wall is open from 10am to 3pm.

Physical Activity: Bending and standing in cold temperatures. 

Check in Location: The Walk-Up Climbing Wall (known as the Kids' Wall) located next to the Upper Bridge near Dick's Chalet.

Please be on time as we want to make sure we can train you before we open at 10am! At the end of your shift, please check in with Marta, or any other San Juan Mountain Guides staff member, as we need to make sure the next round of volunteers are trained before you can hand off the baton! If you need to leave early, please check in with Marta, or any other San Juan Mountain Guides staff member. Thank you!
